Mr. Desmond Yeung
Overview

Mr. Desmond Shun Shing YEUNG graduated in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1989. He obtained the Master of Science in Health Care (Physiotherapy) in 1998 and Postgraduate Diploma in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2013. He was also granted the Advanced Postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Specialty by the Institute of Advanced Allied Health Institute in 2015. He is the ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist since 2014 and Registered Tai Chi Master in Hong Kong SAR since 2002. Mr. Yeung develops his clinical interests in treating patients with arthritis for more than 25years, utilizing different intervention approaches such as land exercises, hydrotherapy and Tai Chi. He had conducted following studies:
(1) Reliability of ankle dorsiflexor and plantarflexor apparatus of Cybex II + isokinetic machine
(2) Tai Chi Chuan and physiotherapy home exercises for patients with rheumatoid arthritis
(3) Comprehensive Osteoarthritis ManagmEnt (COME) programme– Pilot Multi-Disciplinary Exercise Training Programme for patient with OA knee in MMRC
Mr. YEUNG has also participated in following studies as co-investigator/co-arthur:
(1) Postoperative pain control for patients with total knee arthroplasty using continuous femoral nerve block and periarticular soft tissue injection
(2) Review article: Updates on Non-surgical Treatment in Knee Osteoarthritis
