Prof. Vincent Mok
Overview
CV
Professor Vincent Mok graduated from the University of Sydney (MBBS) in 1992 (MBBS) and he obtained his Medical Doctorate Degree at CUHK in 2006. He was appointed as Assistant Dean (Admissions) of the Faculty in 2014, the Director of Therese Pei Fong Chow Research Centre for Prevention of Dementia in 2016, Head of Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine and Therapeutics in 2017, and Director of Margaret K.L. Cheung Research Centre for Management of Parkinsonism in 2019. To acknowledge his outstanding academic achievements, the University awarded him the Outstanding Fellow of the Faculty in 2016 and endowed him as the “Mok Hing Yiu Professor of Medicine” in 2017. He was promoted to Chair Professor grade in 2018.
Professor Mok served as the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Society of Vascular Behavioral and Cognitive Disorders (Vas-Cog) in 2018, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Co-Chair of the Scientific Committee of the International Congress of Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society 2018. He was the Convener of the Dementia session at the World Congress of Neurology 2017. In 2018, he was elected as the Advisory Council Member of the Alzheimer’s Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research (ISTAART). Alzheimer’s Association is the largest international professional organization focusing in Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia.
Professor Mok received the Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Award (Science & Technology) in Natural Sciences (1st Class) from the Ministry of Education, Peoples’ Republic of China in 2011 and the Excellent Research Award from the Food and Health Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2017. He also received 7 times Teacher of the Year Award and the Master Teacher Award in 2012. He is also director of 2 educational programmes: Master in Stroke and Clinical Neurosciences and GIFT Care Programme. The later is a Professional Certificate Programme for health care professionals in promoting well-being in informal caregivers of dementia.
