Dr Lam was graduated from the medical school of Hong Kong University. She is a paediatrician with special interest in endocrinology and neonatology. She is fellow in paediatrics of a few academic organisations, these include FHKCPaed, FHKAM (Paediatrics), F.R.C.P. (Glasgow) and FRCPCH(London). For her previous training, she had overseas training in different paediatric subspecialties. She had clinical attachment at the Queen’s Hospital, Nottingham and Royal Manchester Hospital in the UK for general paediatrics. For her training in neonatology, she had clinical attachment at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York - Presbyterian and CS Mott Children’s Hospital in Michigan, USA. For paediatric endocrinology, she went to the Endocrine and Diabetic Division of BC Children’s Hospital in Canada in 1996 and recently in 2018. In her latest training, on top of endocrinology and diabetic training, she was also actively participating in their community program for children with obesity.

Dr Lam is currently COS of the department of paediatrics at Kwong Wah Hospital. She is also the neonatalogy team head and director of endocrine service in the department . She is a trainer in paediatrics for HK College of Paediatricians.
