Dr. Alison REID
Overview
CV
Alison is a medical graduate of the University of Tasmania, completed a Masters of Health Administration at the University of New South Wales and was awarded Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine in 1992. In 2009, she completed studies in Global Health Diplomacy at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.
From 1994-1999, Alison was the Hospital Chief Executive of the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong and on her return to Australia, she was appointed as the Medical Director of the New South Wales Medical Board. For three years from 2011, Alison led an international team contracted to establish the National Health Regulatory Authority in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Currently, Alison is the Executive Director of the International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA) which has 116 member organisations in 48 countries. Alison also works as a Consultant in Healthcare and Regulation with regulatory authorities across a number of healthcare professions both in Australia and internationally. She has extensive experience in assessing and managing practitioners’ fitness to practise in relation to their qualifications, professionalism and personal health.
