Dr. Hung Kai Cheng
Overview
CV
Hung-kai Cheng, MB BS, FANZCA, FHKAM, is consultant anaesthetist and chief of service of the Department of Anaesthesia, service director of the Ambulatory Surgery Centre, and Deputy Hospital Chief Executive of Tseung Kwan O Hospital, Hong Kong. He is Chairman of the Board of Accreditation of the Hong Kong College of Anaesthesiologists.
He was instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and is actively involved in resuscitation training and service enhancement in his hospital. He completed an MSc in information technology at the University of Middlesex and has had a number of perioperative information system initiatives to modernize the operating theatre and the anaesthetic assessment clinic. He has a special interest in peri-operative echocardiography, completing a PG Diploma in the subject at the University of Melbourne.
During the past two decades, he has been promoting day surgery service and developing various patient service improvement models within the Hospital Authority. His recent focus is perioperative interventions, such as Enhanced Recovery After Surgery and Patient Blood Management programs, to improve outcome of patients.
