Dr. Chloe Mak
Overview
CV
Dr Chloe Mak is currently the Consultant taking care of the chemical pathology, newborn screening for inborn errors of metabolism and genetic and genomic services in IEM in the Department of Pathology, Hong Kong Children’s Hospital.
Chloe has two doctoral degrees, her PhD in 2008 studying the molecular basis of Wilson disease in Chinese and her MD in 2012 on the chemical pathology analysis of NBS for IEM. She also has two pathology specialty fellowships under the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, namely Chemical Pathology and Genetic Pathology. In addition, she has completed the Master degree in Hospital and Health Management from the University of Birmingham.
Chloe has currently dedicated herself in the pediatric laboratory medicine. She is also the Committee Members of the IFCC Emerging Technologies in Pediatric Laboratory Medicine.
She has received awards such as the Fellowship of the European Society of Human Genetics, Overseas Fellowship of the Japanese Society for Inherited Metabolic Diseases, the Young Asian Researchers Award of the Asian Society of Inherited Metabolic Disease, Outstanding team award by the Hospital Authority as Hong Kong West Cluster Pediatric Metabolic Team, and the RCPA Outstanding Teaching Award, the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.
