Dr Yau graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2003, and joined the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (O&T) of Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 2004. He completed his specialist training in O&T in 2011, and is currently Associate Consultant of the Hand and Microvascular Service of the Department. He is also Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the HKU.
Dr Yau subspecialises in the field of hand and upper extremity surgery, and has undergone overseas training in four renowned Hand Surgery Centres in France and USA in 2012. Working in one of the largest Trauma Centre in Hong Kong, his primary clinical interest is in the acute and reconstructive care of traumatic conditions of the upper limb.
Dr Yau has served as a council member of the Hong Kong Society for Surgery of the Hand since 2016, and is currently the Honorary Secretary of the Society.
