Dr Kong graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2009. She started her surgical training in Princess Margaret Hospital, and became the Fellow of General Surgery of the Royal College of Edinburgh FRCS (Edin), the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong FCSHK and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine FHKAM in 2016. Dr Kong completed the subspecialty training programme in breast surgery in 2018. From Jun to Sep 2018, Dr Kong joined the overseas training program and further her studies in Helsinki University Hospital, Finland, and Memorial Sloath Kettering Cancer Center, New York. She gained experience in surgical techniques on breast reconstruction, oncoplastic surgery and fat grafting.

Dr Kong is active in clinical research with multiple publications and presentations. She is a member of the American Society of breast surgeons. She is currently an associate consultant in Department of Surgery, Princess Margaret Hospital.
