Introduction :
Trial without Catheter (TWOC) clinic had been set up since 2012 in PMH urology unit. All ambulatory patients with urinary catheter inserted for retention of urine were referred by Urologist for trial wean off catheter. It was noted that around 55% of patients having urinary catheter without any catheter securement. Proper securement of catheters helps in maintaining skin integrity, prevent dislodgment, minimize the risks of infection and can also prevent trauma caused by swinging or pulling of catheter. According to Nursing standards and Guidelines in Hong Kong and our hospital, urethral catheter is required to be secured in position. However, urinary catheter securement is not always concurring with current practice
