Introduction :
The General Outpatient Clinic Public-Private Partnership Programme (GOPC PPP) is a territory wide programme launched since 2014. To date, over 375 participating service providers and 29,500 patients joined, with a cumulative total of 257,000 consultations been provided through this programme.
Objectives :
To examine the annual service utilization pattern of the participating patients.
Methodology :
Participating patients who had ever attended a consultation within the period from April to June 2017 were selected and followed up for one year. Data on demographics, consultation pattern and follow-up behaviour were collected.
Result & Outcome :
In total, 10,762 patients were identified with a mean age of 64.8 years (SD=9.82, range 26-101). About 59.5% (N=6,400) of the patients were females. Majority of the patients had hypertension with/ without hyperlipidaemia (98.9%, N=10,640). A total of 69,243 attendances were recorded. The total number of consultations per year was 6.43. Of which, the average number of chronic-related consultations was 4.81. This study provided preliminary information on the service utilization pattern of programme participants. Evaluation based on a larger retrospective cohort are under way and would provide more evidence-based information to facilitate decision-making about strategic direction and future development of the Programme.
