-Precise implementation of the daily calibration and the internal and external quality control of POCT practice.
-attained with accuracy and proper documentation of the POCT results
Methodology :
A task force was set up to construct instruments including: two sets of operation flow charts, quick references and information files of POCT devices, questionnaires for knowledge quiz and satisfaction survey upon the lecture delivered. Lectures and nursing audits on POCT practices were conducted.
Result & Outcome :
A total of 21 staffs participated. Paticipants evaluated the lectures were invaluable with 69.8% satisfaction rate for lectures on Blood Glucose Analyzer and 73.1% for Urine for Pregnancy Test respectively. Staff possessed knowledge on POCT practice with mean score of 7.8/10 for Blood Glucose Analyzer and 9/10 for Urine for Pregnancy Test respectively.
Staffs possessed skill and proper documentation on POCT practices with 100% pass rate in both nursing audits of Blood Glucose Analyzer and Urine for Pregnancy Test.
Instrument constructed were criticized as concise, user-friendly, easy-to-follow and time saving with mean score of 78.6% and 76.2% satisfaction rate for Blood Glucose Analyzer and Urine for Pregnancy Test respectively. In sum, the switch of new model of POCT devices (Blood Glucose Analyzer and Urine for Pregnancy Test) was success with establishement of new operation flow chart, quick references, practical skill, accurate test result, proper documentation and internal and external quality control.
